Each year Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza partners with Melià to bring some of their masterpieces to a broader audience within an exciting setting. This year they made a theatrical representation (a Tableau Vivant) of “the Dream” a painting by the Expressionist master Franz Marc in collaboration with the Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático de Madrid.
To convey the meeting of both worlds we took inspiration from the typography of old theater posters with which we recreated the feeling of the old antique style painting frames. With that inspiration in mind we developed a system placed at the intersection of Art and Theater, that had a playful quality that resonated with the event itself.
