Ibiza Beach & Chips

Giving personality to a new casino and restaurant option in a busy nightlife, beach area

The project started with a simple brief. The client had the idea of a fresh, younger focused, restaurant and casino proposal for one of Ibiza’s busiest tourist areas. Starting with the name, we played on the duality of the ubiquitous fish n’ chips shop with the happy coincidence that chips are both a food and what you play with. The name then gave us a focus for restaurant plus a tone of voice that deliberately avoided traditional casino language and gave a more playful personality. The design further played on this playfulness while also being inspired in 1950s American signage and diner culture. The end result was a colourful and eye-catching premises that stood out and blended in all at the same time.
